Abstract: [Purpose/Significance]This study aims to clarify the expectation levels of minors' digital rights protection, and explore an effective protective mechanism for minors' digital rights.[Design/Methodology]Through questionnaires, original data related to minors' and their parents' expectations on the current minors' digital rights protective measures were collected. An analysis was also conducted by using SPSS, EXCEL and other tools.[Findings/Conclusion]Minors and their parents expect governments to insist on playing a role in minors' digital rights protection. They have lower expectations on families, since minors and their parents are less familiar with public cultural service institutions; minors have more expectations on supplying, cultivating, and protecting measures, while their parents have more anticipations of measures such as technical control and legal restriction. Supervisory, regulatory, compulsory, and restrictive measures have lower rankings among minors' and their parents' expectations. In the future, all the entities should establish a minor-centered digital rights protective system to help the adolescents participate into digital life actively.[Originality/Value]The comparative analysis of the differences between minors and their parents' expectations on minors' digital rights protection could expand the existing theoretical research. Moreover, conclusions and suggestions on measures in this study could provide some reference for relevant subjects.
