Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] This study aims to analyze the current development status and challenges of China's Science and Technology(S&T)Information System, synthesizing construction experiences from major sci-tech powers in constructing their own systems, thereby offering references for China. [Design/Methodology] The study investigates the experiences of building S&T Information Systems in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan, and summarizes the common features in terms of policy regulations, organizational activities, S&T information resources, intelligence research methods, the role of think tanks and research libraries and talent team construction. [Findings/Conclusion] The S&T Information Systems in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan has been tailored to adapt to the demands of S&T competition as well as national security. These nations have established a coordination mechanism of "Government-Industry-Education-Research-Society". Their development of information resources, technical methods, and talent construction is at the forefront globally. Based on the development requirements of the new era, China should strengthen efforts in developing key components such as system mechanisms, information resources, technical methods, talent teams to gradually improve our S&T Information System. [Originality/Value] This study reveals the key issues that need to be addressed in the construction of China's S&T Information System, and proposes strategic suggestions for improving our S&T Information System.
