Editorial Announcement

  • Call for Paper

     

    Dear Professor

     

    As a 90-year-old and the top-ranked LIS School in China, and also an iSchools’ member, the School of Information Management (SIM) has been hosting the academic journal, Document, Information & Knowledge (DIK, www.dik.whu.edu.cn) since 1983, which has been mainly targeting the China’s LIS community, and successfully become one of the top-notch LIS journals in China. To further facilitate the LIS development, and especially to promote the iSchools’ movement, SIM has now decided to publish an English version entitled Library and Information Sciences: Trends and Research by corporation with Springer Ltd.

    The book will be co-edited by SIM, the Center of the Studies of Information Resources (CSIR) of Wuhan University, and the International Cooperative Academy of Library and Information (ICALIS) of Wuhan University. It will be published and distributed by Springer in the form of OA under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial License, with one volume in every two years and about 200-300 pages per volume. The publication will be retrieved by Thomson Reuters Book Citation Index-Science (BKCI-S). An independent editorial board will be established for this collection. Wuhan University will be responsible for the administration of editorial work and bear all the cost of the publication.The authors of the collection mainly comes from the established scholars and administrators, including LIS school deans, experts, leaders and practitioners of different sectors from international wide, some of whom have been specially invited to visit SIM, such as Professor Peter Ingwersen (Denmark), Professor John Unsworth (U.S.), and Professor Eugene Wu (U.S.), and have published their papers on DIK, or will contribute their works especially to this collection soon. On the top of this, we are continuing to solicit papers from some well-known scholars.

    If you are interested and agree to publish your work with us under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial License, please contribute your manuscript (no longer than 8,000 words) in English language. The topic wed like to call for including but not limited to the following:

    l  Information Profession and Information Literacy

    l  Trends of Library and Information Sciences(LIS) Education

    l  Information Seeking and Retrieval

    l  Informatrics

    l  Development of World Libraries
