类似于生物世界,信息生态世界的演变和进化也同样遵循复制、变异与选择(或淘汰)这三种基本机制。本文首先对信息生态世界的这三种机制进行了描述,接着出于语义信息在演进中的特殊意义,给出一种定义,使得每一个信息都是唯一的动态个体,借助于这一点能够更清晰地描述信息生态的演进过程。同时,还进一步分析了信息演化的动态特点,诸如语义信息“惊讶”的作用、信息对通讯的需求等,并以微信为例,说明交流的有效性在信息演化中的巨大作用。本文的第二部分强调指出研究信息进化或信息生态的意义。首先,在Shannon信息理论中所“丢失”了的信息的“意义”,必须重新回归于信息,并以与比特信息的组合方式重新审视信息的本体性质。作者将这种范畴称之为“进化信息论(EIT)”,它与Shannon信息论相伴而存。然后,在大数据背景下,基于K. Popper的“三个世界”的知识理论,对新的三个世界论进行了分析和讨论。强调指出大数据提供的平台所具有的特殊作用,以及信息演化在方法论上所带来的深刻变化。在结语中,引述了Shannon的一首诗,激励人们在这个领域继续前行和探索。

Abstract:

In the first part of the paper, similar to the biological world, it describes the information evolution in which there are also three basic mechanisms: duplication, variation, and selection (or elimination). A formal definition of semantic information is given, by which the process of information ecology, about duplication, variation and elimination, can be represented more clearly. At the same time, the paper analyzes the distinguishing features and dynamics in information evolution, such as the role of “surprise” in semantic information, the demand of information for communication, etc., and takes WeChat as an example to illustrate the great role of communication effectiveness in the evolution information.
The second part of this paper emphasizes the significance on the information evolution. First of all, since Shannon information theory “lost” the “meaning “of information, it must be taken back, and put into the true nature of information, which is called by the author as “Evolution Information Theory (EIT)”. Then, in the context of Big Data, based on K. Popper’s theory of knowledge about “Three Worlds”, the new three worlds (EITW1, EITW2, and EITW3) are introduced and discussed. At last, a brief description of the possible future of information evolution is given, and especially pointed out that the Big Data, as the EITW3 main body, has a special resource function in the evolution of information.
