Abstract:

Research findings: the organization structuring of university libraries in foreign countries mainly go through two phases: one is to set up organization based on the document processing business, another is to set up the superministry based on the strength of function. Meanwhile, presenting the following changing tendencies: the collection department always occupied the central position, technical services and public services gradually merged, based on the function innovation constantly emerged new departments. The organization structuring of university libraries in China also go through two phases: one is to set up organization based on the document processing business, another is to set up the diversified departments based on the function expanding. Meanwhile, presenting the following changing tendencies: the acquisition department, cataloging department, circulation department and reading room gradually merged, the number of periodical department was on the decrease, emerging digital department or digital library began to attract attention.
